Happy 4's All Around

Hi dolls! I'm thankful for some new followers so welcome! Today it's all about the number 4! The 4th of July & the day 4 fun of the 15 day challenge!  Woo to the hoo! 

Up first...prompt #4. 

What is your favorite childhood memory? 

Here's the thing y'all- I had a really beautiful childhood.  As an only child, I was able to spend really amazing time with my parents, extended family, and friends.  And I credit those experiences to who I am today.  

Some of the highlights of my childhood...

-Going to Disney World at ages 5 & 6. When I was six, my mom WON the trip on the radio.  It was really special because we went for my birthday and I got sung to by the Fairy Godmother. It was probably one of the coolest moments of my life. 

-Celebrating Christmas at our house. Once I came around, my parents vowed that they wanted Christmas to be about my magic and so we would stay at our house and family would come to us.  

-Playing with my neighborhood friends in the dead heat of summer.  We'd play house with our American Girls dolls & take over our houses and our backyards.  

-I also have really happy memories of preparing for our church's Christmas pageant.  As an only kid, I got to go along to the many trips to Home Depot for paint & lights and to the craft stores for costumes.  We'd spend long nights at the church painting and crafting. At the time I'd complain, but I think so fondly of those memories. 

Apparently, most of my happy memories come from Christmas/December.  Who knew?! 

So that's just a few.  I couldn't pick just one.  They are all too special. 

Now onto the more important part of this post....

Happy 4th of July Lovelies! 

I am looking forward to baking two apple pies, cleaning my apartment, and heading to York to celebrate with Aaron's extended family.  We'll have a cookout, laugh way too hard, and then see some fireworks (if we feel like it).  It's going to be pretty much perfect.  I've already enjoyed my cup of coffee in my bed, while watching tv and reading blogs.  

So today, I'm pretty darn thankful for my country. The country that I have been raised in, that has taught me the meaning of freedom, patriotism, and democracy.  I'm blessed to know men and women who have fought and continue to fight for these things and for them, I am eternally grateful.  I'm thankful that I live in the United States and have been given so much, when others live elsewhere with so little.
