Dog Days Are Over

You know that day. The one where you are already a little close to the edge of the crazy, and BOOM something hits you and now you're clingy to the edge of the rocky cliff of "out-of-luck."

Yup-that was my day.  I already can barely get through Fridays just with everything that I have to do. ( all afternoon.)  Literally my lunch break is actually when I'm working in the Admissions office for tours.  Ridiculous.

So on top of all that jazz (enter: jazz hands) I got a little gift from Mother Nature today, That of course just put me into a bad mood.  And then my mom decided that I really needed to get my car in to get checked.  Because it's been making this obscene noise.  However, my schedule doesn't exactly allow for car issues. So I was texting/calling people all day about it.

Ok-enough complaining. The reason I posted about all of this junk is not because I wanted to have anyone feel sorry for me or for the simple need for complaining.

It is, as is the purpose for this blog, to provide an update about my goals.  How with the above crazy could I have gotten a goal accomplished.  See #13.

Yes, it simply says Let Go.  This is hard for me.  I like to control everything and hold everything inside and then unleash it at inopportune moments.  Today, I let go.  After all of my roomates left and I had cried a little (yes, I melted down today) and talked to my mom and the guy at Midas (who I swear is adorable), I put on my latest anthem.

Dog Days are Over by Florence and the Machine.

It's become a new favorite on Pandora and now iTunes.  And you know what I did?!

I DANCED.  In my tanktop and jeans. Barefoot.  Around my room with the window open.  All around my room, up and down my steps, even on my bed.  (I almost fell off my bed doing so which is when I decided to stick with the floor.)  I danced and danced and danced.  There were lots of arms flailing and lots of booty-shaking.  But as soon as it was over, I knew that not only had my bad day passed, but my weekend had officially begun.  All is well.

Oh and for those who don't know what I look like when I dance see the following photo.  It was taken in Lesotho 3 years ago.  I was dancing with the African children and they laughed at me.  And yes, that is a hideously long jean skirt with under armor underneath and Keanes.  It was a sight.

Love and more love.
